It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Geoff Clarke our Director.
Following a brief and sudden illness, he sadly passed away surrounded by his family on Monday 24th November at the age of 79.
With a passion for engineering all his life, Geoff formed Tunnel Engineering in 1992. A company he drove forward with a strong commitment to family values and was fully invested in creating innovative solutions to tunnelling challenges.
Having developed equipment solutions on many infrastructure projects both in the UK and overseas. One of Geoff’s proudest moments was the bespoke design and manufacture of an 8m i.d Mechanised Tunnelling Machine, the largest built to date in the UK with the team taking just seven months to complete from start to finish.
Many of our customers, business colleagues and suppliers became lifelong friends and the company has many loyal employees, some of which started on apprenticeships and benefited hugely from his wealth of knowledge and experience.
Alongside work he loved spending time working on his new build house in Anglesey. Designed by Geoff and Lynda, his beloved wife of 57 years and which they had recently moved into.
He was devoted to his children, all of whom proudly worked alongside Geoff in the business.
Geoff adored his grandchildren and enjoyed the time spent together sharing holidays, stories and general mischief together.
We hope with the hard working, passion and enthusiasm for life that Geoff instilled in us, we will follow his guidance to continue the legacy he created and to make him proud of the company in all its future endeavours.
