Tunnel Engineering Services (TES) has been awarded ISO 9001, reflecting the company’s commitment to quality.
Awarded on June 26, ISO 9001:2015 is a new certification for the company, which has formalised new processes to attain the quality standard.
Design and Project Manager Alan Worsley says that accreditation shows the company’s ambition.
“This certification is the result of a lot of hard work from everyone at the company – the whole team has been instrumental during the implementation process, allowing the company to achieve the ISO 9001 standard in a smooth and timely manner,” Alan said.
He continued: “We have always worked to the standards laid out in this accreditation, but by formalising the processes across the company it opens the door to working on larger projects with new contractors.”
ISO 9001:2015 is based on several quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of management, the process approach and continual improvement.
Over one million companies and organisations in more than 170 countries use the accreditation to help ensure that customers get consistent, quality products and services.
The accreditation was awarded after assessors were satisfied that TES’ policies and procedures met quality standards, following an inspection earlier this year.
In October 2017, TES was also awarded the BS EN 1090 quality standard for structures and structural components, which includes the design and fabrication of steelwork up to execution class three. This allows the tunnelling equipment company to CE mark temporary and permanent steel structures.
As part of continued ongoing growth plans, TES moved to larger premises at the start of 2018.
